“I knew I had a good car, ... Everybody we came to I could pass. The car would stick in the middle going in and come back and pick up the cushion. The car was getting off the corners better than it has in quite some time. It felt a little more like the car did at the beginning of the year. I had an exceptionally good racecar tonight. I could run the bottom in Turns 1 and 2 and I could run through the middle and back up to the cushion in Turn 3. When you're like that, [crew chief] Scott Gerkin and the guys did a great job.”
“I definitely have to work on a few things -- my restarts, going through the gears and coming in and out of pit road. We now have 200 miles under our belt that we never had before. It was a good start and I am ready to do it again.”
“I just got so slow in Turns 1 and 2 and that's where he beat me. In Turns 3 and 4 we were both getting around the top pretty well. It was sort of my fault. I was running the top of this thing all weekend and sat there and second-guessed myself and knew I should have gone back up but I didn't do it and got out run.”
“I was glad to see Kraig win the Nationals the other night, ... I probably would have given him a pretty good race if I wouldn't have crashed (in a preliminary race).”
