“I've been seeing the ball well for a couple of weeks now. I don't know what else to say, he gave me something I could handle and I swung as hard as I could. We came out with a ton of intensity. That's the challenge coach (Ryan) Roberts gave us to come out and have good solid at-bats. Once we got started it was hard to stop.”
“It's always a lot of fun to come out and play a good game against a team I used to play for. I've still got a lot of friends on that team; I've still got some teammates that I played with on that team.”
“It was a huge at-bat, because the game was pretty close. We had guys on first and second, so in my mind I was thinking gap-to-gap, trying to hit a double. The pitcher hung me a curve ball, so I got a little out in front but stayed through and hit it down the line. We got both runs in.”
“I take the same approach every time. Early in the count I'm hoping they throw me a mistake and that's what I feel like happened in the first couple of at-bats. It's really important when another team makes a mistake, you've really got to bury them. You have to go right after them and make those mistakes hurt. I think our team did a good job of that.”
