“It hit right on the edge of the dirt and the edge of my foot, ... I didn't hear anything. It was a really marginal ball off my foot. It barely nicked my foot...and took a funny bounce. I reacted and took off running. None of the umps really had a good look at it. I would have liked to hear foul ball from the get-go and get another shot with the bases loaded. I'll sacrifice that at-bat to help us break out that inning though.”
“This was about the CD. First time, you know. I was a little nervous at first, but once I got up there and saw how the crowd was, it was like I just kind of interacted with them and had some fun.”
“That was the perfect situation to be in. I didn't start the game, but I got a chance to be up in a situation where I can put our club ahead with one swing.”
“Any time you go through what I've been going through, you just have to deflect it. I've been challenged to do better. I've been working hard and I have the blisters to prove it.”
“I didn't know if it was out. I was looking at the ball, and then watching him. He looked like he had it, but I'm glad he didn't catch it. It was a wall scraper for sure. But at this point in the season, who cares. Whatever it takes.”
